The range depends on the extent of the tear; a complete muscle rupture or bundle tear (Muskelbündelriss) can take considerably longer and may need medical assessment or, occasionally, surgery. See a doctor for severe pain, a visible dent in the muscle, or a large bruise. Not medical advice.

A torn muscle fibre (Muskelfaserriss) heals differently depending on its severity: a minor tear is often better after about 2 to 3 weeks, while a larger one can take more than 6 weeks to become fully load-bearing again. A simple muscle strain (Zerrung, the mildest form) usually settles within about a week.

More details

What matters is resting the muscle early (the RICE approach) and only slowly loading it again once the pain has gone — loading it too soon prolongs the healing.
