Timeline guide
  • Faster cases

  • Average cases
    ~3 days
  • Slower cases
    Up to 7 days
New personal accounts also face a separate requirement — a 14-day closed test with 12 testers before production access — which is often confused with review time but comes on top of it.

Google's official guidance: app review can take up to 7 days, "or longer in exceptional cases" — and new or low-history developer accounts are explicitly reviewed more thoroughly. Developer-reported reality is faster for established accounts: updates often clear in hours to ~1 day, first apps typically in 1–3 days.

Sensitive categories (fintech, health, kids) and Q4/holiday periods run slower, commonly 4–10 days. Unlike Apple, Google publishes no typical figure and no SLA.
