This is the examination time, not the whole appointment. Mild burning when passing urine and a little blood in the urine for a day or two afterwards are common. Contact your doctor if you develop a fever, cannot pass urine, or the bleeding is heavy or persists. General information, not medical advice.
A cystoscopy usually takes about 5 to 10 minutes — most are over in under ten. It is done with a numbing gel in the urethra, so it is normally not painful, just briefly uncomfortable.
More details
If the doctor also takes a tissue sample or treats something during the same examination, it can run up to around 30 minutes. You will be at the practice longer than that overall, including preparation and a short rest afterwards.
